A busy Remembrance Sunday

General News2279 Wrexham were very busy on Remembrance Sunday.

Cadets were up early to get into their best uniform. We met in Wrexham at 10AM and formed up as part of the march to the cenotaph.

We paraded three banners for the first time this year; our own together with the Aircrew and RAFA standards.

Wreaths were laid at the main cenotaph, the David Lord memorial and the memorial in the RAFA club.

After the ceremony at the RAFA clb cadets served tea & coffee to the mayor and other guests. This ended with the traditional washing-up!

There was a brief rest from duty during which cadets took part in a pool tournament.

Cadets then moved to the Glydwr Satdium to collect for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal outside and inside the international rugby match.

During the game we were kindly allowed to watch with a brief move to collect more for the legion at 1/2 time.

The day ended on another sad note; Wales lost!

World Heritage Event - Trevor Basin

General NewsWe were asked again this year to assist Wrexham Council in running the event at the Trevor basin.

We formed a guard of honour and provided an escort for the Mayor of Wrexham, councillor Kelly, on his arrival.

Cadets helped assemble tents, moved furniture and then kept an eye on the canal to warn of any safety issues.

As you can see we were issued with appropriate safety equipment for duck feeding; it even went with the uniform!

There was time for a group photo with the Mayor who seems to pop up wherever we go lately!
