A busy Remembrance Sunday
2279 Wrexham were very busy on Remembrance Sunday.Cadets were up early to get into their best uniform. We met in Wrexham at 10AM and formed up as part of the march to the cenotaph.
We paraded three banners for the first time this year; our own together with the Aircrew and RAFA standards.
Wreaths were laid at the main cenotaph, the David Lord memorial and the memorial in the RAFA club.
After the ceremony at the RAFA clb cadets served tea & coffee to the mayor and other guests. This ended with the traditional washing-up!
There was a brief rest from duty during which cadets took part in a pool tournament.
Cadets then moved to the Glydwr Satdium to collect for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal outside and inside the international rugby match.
During the game we were kindly allowed to watch with a brief move to collect more for the legion at 1/2 time.
The day ended on another sad note; Wales lost!
