Cadet 150 Gliding
Over the weekend 12th to 13th June over 150 cadets flew gliders at RAF Valley. We had Air cadets, Army cadets, Sea cadets and Marine cadets taking part. On the 12th approximately 94 cadets flew, 4 of them from 2279.
This is a lot but was possible due to good weather and tireless pilots and staff!
On the 13th the weather was not quite as good; flying was suspended for 1.5 hr over the lunch period due to heavy rain.
Neverthless over 60 cadets flew ( 8 from 2279) together with a few staff.
Here we see a group from 2279 ready to go air-side:

After the rain there was a rather eery mist rolling over the runway:
Later in the day the sun came out again.....just in time for the 150th cadet who was an Air Cadet !
Our NCOs were asked to help with the air-side admin. for the day, Cpl Edwards helped the pilots all morning and Sgt. Cargius in the afternoon.
The Sgt. took some pictures from close-up !

The tiring day ended at 2279 by 8:30PM.....well worth the early start.
