Cadet 150 Tree Planting

On the 6th March cadets from 2279 Wrexham joined other air cadets together with ACF, CCF and Sea cadets at a tree planting on the Crogen Estate. To mark 150 years of cadets the cadet organisation have been given 150,000 trees by the Woodland Trust to plant throughout the UK.

We attended one of the many events taking place this year and planted about 1200 of the trees.

The first tree was planted by our own Hannah Edwards :

We then planted trees over a wide area of the estate.

As you can see the cadets all looked good in their blues; Wing Commander Goggin made a point of thanking the cadets for turning up so smart!

A few of those planting:

The cadets planted one larger ceremonial tree in front of the main hall:

The final parade included the 150 sign as you can see:

A good day was had by all!
